Snowdon mountain trek - 2024 April

Over the last weekend, my partner and I embarked on an exhilarating hike. I'd like to share my research and experience with all of you. We ascended via the Llanberis path and descended using the Pyg & Miners Track. The journey took approximately 5 hours, including several breaks to capture the stunning scenery. We have a moderate level of fitness. What To Expect Although, I would say you need a good base level of fitness before you heads up Snowdon as it does take an average of 6 hours to get up and down again. There are number of paths, however we have explored 3 different paths and will share about them in this blog. The Llanberis path is the easiest path as it runs alongside the Snowdon Mountain Railway on a gradual incline, but it is also the longest. On the other hand the Pyg Track is the shortest of the paths but does contain a rather steep climb with some scrambling towards the end. It’s all swings and roundabouts! About Paths There are seven main paths up to the top...

Presence

So, actual presence requires knowing yourself, accepting your strengths and weaknesses, and being kind and honest with yourself. Remember that everything starts with you, and how you treat yourself determines how others perceive you. Therefore, study yourself as an interesting, albeit challenging, science, and love yourself as your closest, yet imperfect, friend. Practice your previously acquired knowledge regularly, and you will soon forget what it means to feel out of place. Let the whole world appear to you as a friendly, kind, and safe place to express yourself and limitlessly realize your ideas. Try this • Don't avoid your fears; take small steps toward them because this is the only way to overcome them. For example, I am fear of public speaking, so I started speaking more often with friends. • Whenever you feel overwhelmed, reduce stress by viewing yourself from an outside perspective, like watching a character who is doing their best. This is my favourite :)  • Introduce medi...

How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish

Summary:  As humans, both children and adults, we find it more comfortable to open up and talk about our problems when we have someone who listens to us and acknowledges our experiences. And by opening up about our problems, we are better able to cope with our feelings and focus on solutions. Hence, as a parent, it’s your responsibility to help your children deal with their feelings by adopting the language of empathy. It is also your duty to encourage autonomy in your children, help them develop a great and healthy self–image, and prepare them to become responsible adults. Listen to your children with full attention! Whenever your kids are trying to tell you something, give them your full attention. Do not pretend to be listening—stop whatever you are doing and focus. You don't even have to say anything. Most of the time, a sympathetic silence is all a child needs. Moreover, children internalize whatever their parents say about them. When people put negative labels on kids it tend...

12 Rules for Life

Few things I have learned from this book Summary: Like it or not, we all strive to avoid getting hurt or damaged. Some of us experiment, take risks to learn about the world around us and ourselves. There are others, who prefer staying in their protective, imaginary shell. Both approaches define the way we choose to interact with reality. The author also talked about the importance of good Serotonin level, putting yourself first, choosing people who will bring to the fore best in you. You are well aware that you should be comparing yourself only as each person is unique.  Telling the truth and articulate your thoughts most accurately is crucial not only for others to get you but also for you to understand yourself.

The Power of Self discipline - No Excuses

Success requires hard work, and the essential requirement for hard work is self-discipline. You will only be able to achieve success when you can overcome the natural tendency to cut corners and take the easy way. Your ability to think, plan, and work hard in the short term and to discipline yourself to do what is right and necessary before you do what is fun and easy is the key to living long and creating a wonderful future for yourself. Try this Invest 3% of your income in yourself! This will ensure that you remain an appreciating asset and that your earning ability increases continually. If your annual income is $50.000, for instance, you should invest $1500 back into yourself to maintain and improve your knowledge and skills. Remember, the key to success is personal and professional growth. Never stop learning and growing.
